Before you sign in

Your browser stores your device library and a secret key in local storage. Dotcarry stores a hashed form of that key with the QR destinations so your links work and remain editable. We do not need an email address for the first 10 codes. Clearing browser data before sign-in can lose management access to the library. Signing in transfers the codes to your verified account without changing existing printed links.

What we store

We store your email address, saved QR destinations, account sessions, and subscription status. Sign-in codes expire after 10 minutes and are stored as hashes. We temporarily store hashed identifiers and attempt counts to prevent sign-in abuse.

We do not add tracking parameters to your URLs, keep scan histories, or offer scan analytics.

Service providers

Cloudflare hosts the site and database. Brevo delivers requested sign-in emails. Stripe processes payments and manages billing. We store Stripe customer and subscription identifiers; card details are handled by Stripe.

Hosting, email and payment providers may process IP addresses and operational logs to provide and protect their services. Brevo may process email delivery, open and click events according to its account settings.

Website usage

We use Microsoft Clarity to understand how visitors use our website through heatmaps and limited interaction recordings. Clarity receives usage, device and browser information. Inputs, account details and QR previews are masked. We send denied consent for advertising and analytics storage, so Clarity operates without its cookies and does not link visits across pages. We honor Global Privacy Control and Do Not Track by not loading Clarity. Clarity does not run on QR redirect links or email confirmation links. See the Microsoft Privacy Statement.

Optional email updates

Marketing signup is separate from sign-in. If you choose to receive news, guides and offers, we store your email, consent wording version, signup page and confirmation time. You must confirm your address before it is added to Brevo for marketing. Unconfirmed requests are removed after 30 days. Unsubscribe using the link in any marketing email.

Cookies and your data

We use essential cookies for sign-in and temporary sign-in verification. Your browser also saves your current URL draft so you can return from checkout without retyping it.

You can export saved QR codes from your library. We retain saved codes while you keep your account, including after cancellation or failed payment. Request account deletion by email; some payment records may need to remain for accounting or legal requirements.
